#13 Nanda van der Sloot
Hi allemaal,
Aankomende verkiezingen ben ik op plek 13 te vinden! Mijn naam is Nanda van der Sloot en ik ben 23 jaar oud. Oorspronkelijk kom ik uit Rotterdam maar voor mijn studie politicologie heb ik de Maas ingeruild voor de Waal. Ik sta op de lijst voor AKKUraatd omdat ik mij graag wil inzetten voor een universiteit met een sterke medezeggenschap! Ik vind het ontzettend belangrijk dat de universiteit een plek is waar elke student zich thuis voelt en zich zowel op persoonlijk als academisch vlak kan ontwikkelen. Ik vind dat de universiteit een bestuursjaar of een stage moet stimuleren, bijvoorbeeld door flexibel studeren makkelijker te maken, ook financieel gezien. Zo betaalde ik het afgelopen collegejaar 2060 euro aan collegegeld terwijl ik in het eerste semester stage liep en in het tweede semester slechts een cursus volgde. Ik zou het ontzettend jammer vinden als studenten niet kiezen voor een stage vanwege financiële redenen. Daarnaast vind ik het ontzettend belangrijk dat studenten met een fysieke of mentale beperking gehoord worden. Door een verkeerde pengreep kan ik nauwelijks schrijven en heb ik altijd een computer nodig tijdens colleges en tentamens. Deze lichte beperking zorgde al voor veel (administratieve) problemen. Laat staan als je als student een fysieke of mentale beperking hebt en aanpassingen en begeleiding nodig hebt om onderwijs te volgen. Tot slot wil ik zeggen: ga stemmen! En het liefst natuurlijk op AKKUraatd!

For the upcomings election, I am number 13 on the list! My name is Nanda van der Sloot, 23 years old. I grew up in Rotterdam but moved to the beautiful city of Nijmegen to study political science. I applied for a spot on the list because I want to promote student participation. In my opinion, it is important that every student feels at home at our university. I hope that every student at the Radboud University gets the opportunity to develop him or herself, both academically and personally. I think the university should promote doing an internship or board year. This could be done by giving students the opportunity to study flexible and by making this financially attractive. This year, I did an internship and followed only one course. However, I had to pay the full amount of tuition fees. I think it would be a pity if students do not apply for an internship because of financial reasons. Besides, I think it is important to listen to students with a mental or physical disability. I am physically not able to write and therefore I always use a computer. Unfortunately, this caused a lot of (administrative) problems. For this group of students with special needs, studying can be hard and therefore it important that their voices are heard. In the end I want to say: go vote! And preferably vote AKKUraatd!
