Digitalisering: Digitaal kenniscentrum & een cloudservice

AKKUraatd vindt dat de universiteit de mogelijkheden van digitalisering op een goede manier moet benutten. Ook het onderwijs vindt namelijk steeds meer online plaats. We werken steeds meer samen in onlinedocumenten, we lezen onze artikelen online en krijgen steeds vaker kennisclips en e-learnings ter voorbereiding van colleges. Op initiatief van Studentenfractie AKKUraatd heeft de Universitaire Studentenraad daarom twee notities ingediend bij het College van Bestuur over dit onderwerp.
Ten eerste pleiten wij voor een digitaal kenniscentrum. Het digitaal kenniscentrum is een digitaal platform, waarop al het digitaal onderwijsmateriaal als kennisclips en weblectures beschikbaar wordt gesteld voor studenten en andere mensen in de samenleving. Op deze manier kunnen studenten op een laagdrempelige manier informatie opdoen uit andere onderwijsgebieden. Ook kan het videomateriaal beschikbaar worden gesteld aan de rest van de samenleving, wat de rol van de universiteit als kennisbron voor de maatschappij kan versterken.
Ten tweede pleiten wij voor een goed functionerende cloudservice. Deze cloudservice zal een functie binnen Brightspace moeten worden waarin studenten met elkaar in de cloud kunnen samenwerken en waarin ze met elkaar kunnen communiceren. Studenten moeten steeds vaker in groepsopdrachten samenwerken en AKKUraatd vindt dat de univertsiteit een goed functionerende en veilige cloudservice moet aanbieden aan haar studenten. Via deze cloudservice zouden studenten ook thuis bij hun bestanden op de RU-computers moeten kunnen.
Op 27 mei zullen wij onze notities met het College van Bestuur en de rest van de Gezamenlijke vergadering bespreken.
Digitalization: Digital knowledge centre & a cloud service
AKKUraatd wants the university to take advantage of the possibilities that digitalization offers. Education is also digitalizing. We often work together in online documents, read articles online and have to use knowledge clips and e-learning modules to prepare for a lesson. On the initiative of AKKUraatd, the University Student Council handed in two memorandums at the Executive Board about this subject.
Firstly, we favour a digital knowledge centre. this is a digital platform, on which all of the digital educational material like knowledge clips and web lectures can be found by students and other people of our society. With this centre, we van offer students the opportunity to learn from other disciplines. Also when the material is accessible for people besides our students, the university can enhance their role as a source of knowledge for society.
Secondly, we plead for a well-functioning cloudservice. Students increasingly have group projects and a service like this will help students with this kind of assignments. This cloudservice will be a function within Brightspace, in which students can work together online and in which they can communicatie. With this service, students will also be able to access their files from home.
On May 27th, we will discuss our memorandums with the Executive Board and the rest of the Joint Assembly.
